DesiBimbo : (In her mind: I'm so amazingly great. I am above all these menials groveling before me for a job at Mhos)
DesiBimbo : Hi. (Oh I've seen this bitch on campus a couple of times. We stay in the same building)
Me : Hi! I'm Jasmine. I'm a Masters student.. ...(other details)
DesiBimbo : Let me see what we have here.
Me : (This is gonna take a while)
DesiBimbo : So what are your strengths then?
Me : (What the fuck did she read!!!) 2 years of Work Experience, Awards.. etc etc
DesiBimbo : So you have a Masters in Electrical. So how is it relevant?
Me : (What crap! Mhos is IN FACT, if you hadn't already guessed, an Electrical Engineering Company. Now why would somebody like me, who has a Masters and Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering wanna apply for a job here. And then again, with bilingual capabilities in English and GERMAN, I guess its really too much to ask.) Well, I have a degree in Electrical, 2 years worth of experience in Software. This is the place where I can get a cross-functional job that utilizes experience from both these fields.
DesiBimbo : Oh now I get it. You have two years of work experience in INDIA.
Me : (What the fuck did she read!!!) Yes.
DesiBimbo : There is a posting we put up in the Career Management website. I am surprized you haven't seen it because many other people have. (What a bitch this girl is. Oh I don't know how such lame people expect to get jobs at Mhos. Duh!)
Me : (Like if anything happened with the Career Management website I'd care to to come to the Career Fair) I must have missed it. But please do consider me for any summer positions.
DesiBimbo : Thanks, we'll get back to you in case something comes up.

In retrospect ........
How did Mhos actually recruit this person. I mean, trust me, there's better people out there. Mebbe not me, mebbe I'm just too lame to get into Mhos. But there are better people. And then again, I'm not the one recruiting here !!!! Coz if I was, I would be an Investment Banker at Wallstreet making 140K and living it up !!
You'll ask "With your qualifications?". I'd say YES YES and YES. Coz I've seen it happen. I've seen why America is the called the land of opportunity....
While we're on that, I KNOW ONE DOOR OPPORTUNITY IS NOT KNOCKING ON :(

Don't worry Jasmine, things will come your way. And about your post..that's the situation everywhere in US. When I attended career fair for internship, the lady did not ask anything and told me to apply online. I really wanted to ask her what the hell she was doing there... Representing the company or herself...

Like I've said before, jobs don't come to you .. you have to go look for them .. literally. You're a smart girl .. Pick up your confidence, and keep going along .. Good things are bound to come your way :-)
